On our last trip to the Martin Custom Shop in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, we got our pick of some amazing pieces of wood that we wanted made into custom creations for the Music Zoo. A couple of months later, we get to see this one of a kind instrument come to life! Here we have a 000-18 acoustic guitar with a black finish on a sitka spruce top. The idea behind this instrument was to have a 000-14 body size with 18-style woods; hence the spruce top and figured mahogany back and sides.
We gave the guitar some beautiful cosmetics such as multi-color rope top inlays, European flame maple body binding, and old-style green abalone dot inlays. This guitar has a really nice punch to the sound thanks to the body size along with the mahogany, and we can tell once it's got some hours of play time under its belt - it's going to bloom into an amazing acoustic.
