On our last trip to the Martin factory, our friends in the wood storage facility whipped out some pretty awesome surprises: among them some rosewood blocks that had been in the acclimating room since the 1970’s! For whatever reason, the blocks had never been used – so we jumped at the chance to utilize them in some awesome builds, including this D-18 with black walnut back and sides. The guitar has a D-14 fret body with a slotted headstock design, Adirondack spruce scalloped bracing, and a bone nut and saddle. Another guitar that the Martin Custom Shop has knocked out of the park.
