On our last trip to the Martin factory, our friends in the wood storage facility whipped out some pretty awesome surprises: among them some rosewood blocks that had been in the acclimating room since the 1970’s! For whatever reason, the blocks had never been used – so we jumped at the chance to utilize them in some awesome builds, including this D-35 with Madagascar rosewood for the back and sides - not to mention the figured koa back wedge and matching binding! The guitar has a D-14 fret body with a solid headstock design, sitka spruce bracing, and a bone nut and saddle. Another guitar that the Martin Custom Shop has knocked out of the park.
