Amplifiers AC-40 Deluxe Combo Twilight Item Description
The AC-40 is a power-scaleable 40w amplifier powered by four EL84s, two 12AX7s, Mercury Magnetics transformers, and a EF86 tube to crank the EL84s from chiming to screaming. The AC-40 is pretty simple in its layout, but once you learn how the controls on the amp interact – there’s not much this circuit can’t do. The Power Level control acts as a sort of master volume control, as it chokes off the signal to the power section so that you can get overdrive and breakup before the amp is deafeningly loud. The AC40 Deluxe uses 3 separate switches to give you all of the original early 60’s EL84 tonalities, Normal, Brilliant and EF86.
