Taylor has totally reinvented their 800 series models, and we love the new look and spectacular sound. The 814ce is given a custom bracing structure that results in a looser, more luxurious low end. An ultra-thin gloss finish gives the wood a chance to really breath, leading to a more open sound and allowing the aging process to go unhindered. The updated 814ce is also now constructed with a protein glue that enhances the tonal transfer between parts. This beautiful sound is the amplified with Taylor’s groundbreaking Expression System 2 electronics. With a tonal upgrade, these 800 models have been given an aesthetic upgrade to match. Appointments include rosewood purfling that outlines the top and frames the abalone rosette, a rosewood pickguard, a new “Element” fretboard inlay, and a marbled ebony fretboard.
