This well-worn yet still beautiful instrument is a vintage 1956 Gibson ES-295 archtop electric guitar. The ES-295 was originally thought up by Les Paul as a customized ES-175 with a gold finish, but by 1956 the official model of the 295 was born. The ES-295 gained its fame as one of the guitars favored by Elvis Presleyβs guitarist Scotty Moore. The guitar has an arched maple body with a mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard, and comfortably sized 16β lower bout.
The guitar condition-wise has lacquer checking throughout with some paint missing from the top rim with small dings throughout and finish pitting on the back of the neck. There was a minor headstock repair that was professionally done, and the tone cap looks non-original. Cosmetics in this case add to the vibe if you ask us, and this guitar is a wonderful player that includes the original hardshell case.
