Used 1969 Les Paul Standard Vintage Electric Guitar Goldtop Item Description

In the late 1960's, Gibson restarted construction of the traditional Les Paul in its classic body shape. This early 1969 model is a precursor to what would become the Deluxe model, with dual cream cover P-90 pickups mounted in the Gold-colored top. The Maple top is glued to the one-piece Mahogany body for a full-bodied sustain and thick tone that's perfectly complemented by the treble bite of the P-90s. The codes on the all-original potentiometers place the manufacturing date in the 50th week of 1968, making this a very early 1969 model. The larger-style headstock features the original blank, "pre-Deluxe" truss rod cover and the original Kluson Deluxe tuners. The one-piece Mahogany neck features a long tenon joint and is topped with a gorgeous 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. The original Gold Top Hat knobs feature classic Chrome reflectors for an eye catching look. The original nylon-saddled Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece combine to give this guitar rock-solid tuning and killer sustain. This instrument is in overall excellent vintage condition. The all-original nitrocellulose lacquer finish has checking and light surface marks throughout that really add to the vintage patina. Some larger marks on the neck are shown in the photographs. The included hardshell case is a later '70s Gibson model, but fits and protects the instrument perfectly.

Includes: Non-Original Hardshell Case
