The reason this model is named the “First Standard’ is that it recently was uncovered that the original guitar was the very first production 2-piece center-seam sunburst Les Paul ever produced by Gibson, which was shipped to display at the 1958 Music Industry Trade Show! The original guitar was scanned and measured by the Custom Shop down to every last detail, from recreating the “C” shape of the neck to the tone produced by the Custom Bucker Alnico III humbuckers. This is the Vintage Gloss version of the run, with only 150 available in this finish worldwide. This is #23, and is still in excellent shape with the original case and certificate included!
