The first in Gibson’s thinline series, the Byrdland was built after consultation with musicians Billy Byrd and Hank Garland to meet the needs of the fast paced working musicians in the 1950s.
Gibson Custom Shop used the finest select tonewoods for this instrument; flame maple back and sides, flame maple and walnut for the neck, with a carved spruce top. The thinner 2 ¼ inch deep body and the shorter 23.5-inch scale offer a comfortable alternative to more voluptuous archtop guitars. Stocked with Gibson’s 57 Classic humbucker pickups and traditional independent volume and tone controls, the Byrdland offers a rich, versatile sonic palette that is great for pop, jazz, county and rock.
The deep wine red finish of this guitar paired with gold hardware presents a simply regal instrument. Additional Gibson Custom Shop touches include the flower pot headstock inlay, multi-ply fingerboard binding, bound f-holes, and triple-loop Byrdland tailpiece. This pre-owned Gibson Custom Shop Byrdland Venetian is in overall excellent condition, and we're letting it go at an amazing price! Give us a call today!
