For years, The Gibson Les Paul Classic has provided guitarists with everything they know and love about this timeless guitar, yet it’s also modernized with features that will appeal to players who love tradition yet aren't bound by it. The Classic has modern weight-relief that makes it easier to hold onstage and a comfortable Slim Taper neck. Meanwhile, its electronics expand on the traditional two volume/two tone controls format by replacing one of the tone controls with a mini-toggle switch that activates a 15-dB boost for leadwork or extra volume when needed. The '57 Classic (neck) and Super '57 (bridge) humbucker pickups can be coil split by pulling the volume pots, resulting in an increased tonal pallette. Visually, the guitar has some beautiful and subtle figuring on its maple top that contrasts wonderfully with the Heritage Cherry Sunburst color. This new model incorporates some updates that Gibson has made for all of its models, including an adjustable brass nut and improved G-Force (formerly Min-Etune) automatic tuning. When all's said and done, the Classic takes brilliantly gives the traditional Les Paul guitar a great, modern spin.
