This beautiful signature model is a pre-owned Martin 00-42SC John Mayer Stagecoach Edition, built in collaboration with the very talented guitar player and songwriter. This acoustic is in excellent overall condition with only a small surface mark on the lower back of the body - no dings, dents, or major scratches, and it includes the original hardshell case.

Martin’s 00 12-fret body size has long been revered for its rich, airy tone, a tone that superstar John Mayer wanted for his signature Martin. Apart from the unique tone, Mayer notes the vibe of these guitar, and their impact on creativity: “Not very long ago I was inspired to return to a completely natural way of writing and recording music, and at the center of that vision were the Martin 00-sized guitars that defined an era of brilliant songwriting in the ’60s and ’70s.”

The Martin 00-42SC John Mayer Stagecoach Edition is absolutely mesmerizing right out of the case. The first thing we couldn’t help but notice was the gorgeous 42 style Blue Paua trim across the top and headstock, including a rosette that defies convention and boundaries, sprawling across the solid black ebony fretboard. But upon tunring it over, we were equally impressed by the bookmatched vibrant grain structure of solid cocobolo.

A solid Sitka spruce top and hand-carved sitka spruce bracing help create an open yet powerful soundscape that is very responsive to the dynamics of your strumming. The 00 12-fret design also keeps the sound tight and focused. The mahogany neck is carved to a modified V that fits like a glove for cowboy chords. With appointments like the Paua snowflake inlays, Waverly sloane brass engraved side mount tuners, and a bone nut and saddle, Martin and John Mayer have teamed up to create something extremely special.
