EVH 5150 Series Standard Tone
Just the right amount of punch, a load of articulation, and incredible sustain are exactly what you'll get from the Alnico IV pickups loaded in the 5150 Series Standard. You'll achieve some pretty heavy rhythm tones and singing highs when plugged into any high gain amplifier. A EVH Wolfgang humbucker sits in the neck and offers aggressive overdrive and and equally aggressive sustain with great dynamics.
EVH 5150 Series Standard Feel
The EVH 5150 Standard feels like a guitar that is meant to let you perform, with no compromises. Featuring a modified Strat-style basswood body with a deeper than usual upper body curve, this guitar is exceptionally comfortable to play for long periods. A graphite-reinforced bolt-on quartersawn maple neck provides a comfortable modified “C” profile that lets sweeps and scale runs live on any part of the fretboard.
Why We Like It
The EVH 5150 Series Standard is packed with the right features to get you a personalized sound and style; a high-friction tone knob provides stability and won't knock your sound out of whack accidentally on stage, and a low-friction volume knob creates even-volume tapering for the smoothest volume swells and all of your Eddie-like 'Cathedral' swells.
Of course, a top-mount Floyd Rose bridge and locking nut keeps things emotive while also keeping things in tune. The EVH D-Tuna lets switching back and forth between drop-D and standard tuning a breeze.
