Gibson Announces the 2019 Original Collection and Modern Collection!
The New Original Collection For Players Who Want Iconic Looks and Tone!
The Music Zoo was thrilled at NAMM 2019 to see and hold the brand new Gibson 2019 lineup, and now we can bring you details of what's in store! These guitars felt and sounded rock solid, and we've been excited ever since January to bring them into the Zoo! The Original Collection sees Gibson's most iconic designs such as the Les Paul, SG, Flying V, and Thunderbird Bass in a variety of finishes and spec options, all keeping in tradition of the Golden Era of the 1950s. Some of our favorites include the Les Paul Standard '50s - complete with a Goldtop finish, a Vintage '50s neck profile that rhythm players have adored for decades, and a set of Burstbucker 1 and 2 humbuckers, complete with a hand-wired harness and Orange Drop caps! Another must-have in the Original Collection is the Les Paul Standard '60s, with - you guessed it, an AA-grade flame top over a solid mahogany body complete with '60s specs that include a slim-taper neck profile and silver reflector knobs.
The Modern Collection Built With Specs For the Modern Guitarist!
The Modern Collection is aimed at guitarists who want to get the most out of their Gibsons! Perhaps the cornerstone of the collection is the Les Paul Modern, whose features included an assymetrical slim taper neck profile, a compound fretboard radius, and a Modern contoured heel for effortless playing up top! Hardware is top notch on the guitar as well with Grover locking Rotomatics, and four push-pull pots to attain both full humbucker a single-coil tones, as well as phase switching and Pure Bypass - putting the bridge pickup on full volume straight to the output jack.
More highlights of the Modern Collection include the SG Modern (with the same specs as the Les Paul Modern, albeit in SG form), the SG Standard, and stealthy satin black finished Flying V B-2 and Explorer B-2 guitars!
