Joe Satriani (1 of 3)

As you know, we’re all guitar fanboys to some degree here at The Zoo. When we heard Joe Satriani would be in town, we couldn’t pass up the chance to attend, especially considering it was practically up the block from The Zoo at Tilles Center. Satch opened up the night with a bang, gracing the stage alongside a few rock heavyweights, including drummer Marco Minnemen, bassist Bryan Beller, and former Zappa bandmate, guitarist Mike Keneally. Performing classics like “Flying In a Blue Dream”, “Big Bad Moon”, and “Crystal Planet”, the night was a nostalgic one for many. Joe sported his iconic Ibanez JS series guitars with Dimarzio pickups, swapping between a white and red pinstriped model, a metallic black model, and a “Surfing with the Alien” themed guitar. Needless to say, Joe sounded like Joe on all of them, while coming through his signature Marshall JVM amplifiers. If you weren’t there, you missed an awesome night of soaring tremolo squeals, epic solo battles, and a ton more. You can still catch Joe Satriani and his band during the rest of his tour across North America. Check out the tour dates below!
