Legendary Pedalboard Builder Bob Bradshaw Talks About MXR Pedals
Posted on by Walter Bryant
As a kid growing up in a small town in Florida, Bob Bradshaw planted himself right in the front row at rock concerts, and always made sure he had the best stereo in the neighborhood. He taught himself the ins and outs of audio gear by laying his hands on every book or article he could find on the subject.
Moving to Los Angeles in the early ’80s and starting out as an unknown gear repairman, he quickly became a highly respected tech and rig designer recognized industry-wide for his brilliant and revolutionary solutions to pro musicians’ gig and studio needs. He has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, prompting him to found his own company, Custom Audio Electronics.
Throughout his time helping musicians perfect their tone and expand their creativity, Bradshaw’s path constantly intersected with MXR, and in 2006 these two legends officially joined forces to collaborate on meticulously designed, high-end effects and utility boxes. Watch the video above for a closer look at Bradshaw’s legacy, as well as his close relationship with MXR to create the MXR/CAE Boost/OD Pedal!
