Video: Stephen Stern On The Masterbuilt Gretsch Synchro Jet
Posted on by ZooKeeper
NAMM 2013 Stephen Stern is the builder who, above all others, is responsible for making some of the best Gretsch guitars ever built. Better than the originals in the ’50s and ’60s, we dare say. Simply the best of all time. His work is simply stunning. So we are thrilled that one of our favorite NAMM pieces is one that he built and it’s coming home to The Music Zoo. The Synchro Jet is a one-off custom that starts with a headstock design taken from a 1940s Synchromatic, and ends with a thinline semi-hollow Duo Jet style body. Spruce top, flamed maple back and sides. This guitar needs to be seen to be believed, but in the meantime check out the video. Want to own this? Let us know.
