Started out of Charvel’s Guitar Repair in Azusa, California by Wayne Charvel – the company has gone through many different variations to becoming the worldwide presence it is today through the ownership of Fender Musical Instruments Corp. Charvel as a company was sold soon after it started by Wayne to Grover Jackson, who continued to use the name Charvel, as he built hot-rodded instruments that became the talk of the town.
Charvel is known for its ‘Superstrat’ guitars, such as the San Dimas and So-Cal, Dinky, as well as the outlandish Star shape. Players such as Warren DeMartini of RATT, Jake E. Lee, Guthrie Govan, Joe Duplantier of Gojira, Angel Vivaldi, and Satchel of Steel Panther all have their own signature model Charvels, which are available for sale at The Music Zoo! There are lots of different levels of Charvel guitar in production, from the affordable Pro-Mod series still loaded with quality features as 1-piece maple necks, Floyd Rose tremolos and DiMarzio or Seymour Duncan humbuckers all the way up to Custom Shop creations.
