Country Music Legend Merle Haggard Passes Away At Age 79

According to recent news reports, Country music legend, Merle Haggard has passed away on his birthday today on April 6th. He was 79-years-old. The news comes to the media from Haggard’s manager.
Haggard had been in ill health lately, and as a result, has had to cancel concert several tour-dates recently.
The renowned singer-songwriter has had over 40 #1 hits, and has won countless music awards. Last month, Haggard’s hit “Mama Tried” was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry. Haggard was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1994.
