How Gary Clark Jr. Learned to Play Guitar

With all of the success Gary Clark Jr. has achieved, it is truly inspiring to see how humble the Grammy-Winning Blues artist has remained. However, Gary attributes much of his successes on the guitar to a close friend by the name of Eve Monsees. Gary would go on to address her influence during his acceptance speech of the 2014 Grammy awards for Best Traditional R&B Performance stating, “I wouldn’t be playing guitar, I wouldn’t be playing music, if it weren’t for her. She took me to my first gig, and it all started from there.” Watch the touching video above by Rolling Stone, reunited the two childhood friends in the suburban Texas garage where they fell in love with the blues together.
