The very talented Kurt Ballou, guitarist of Converge and owner of the renowned God City recording studio recently came down to The Music Zoo to check out some gear and give us a rundown on his admiration and use of Wild Custom guitars. Wild Custom is a boutique brand from France, where they build each guitar one at a time, with no two ever being alike. Kurt has been known to play his own Savage One model, and in the video describes why it stays in his arsenal.
Ever since our first meeting at the 2015 NAMM show, The Music Zoo has had great admiration for the instruments produced by the Wild Custom Guitars shop in Creuzier-le-Vieux, France. Wild Customs take modern guitar aesthetics to the next level, bringing in their passion for vintage motorcycles, cars, tattoos and art, implementing them into the wood and metal work of their one of a kind instruments! We've been bringing these instruments into The Music Zoo ever since, and every batch comes out cooler than the next.
While being produced across the Atlantic in France, Wild Custom guitars have long been seen in the United States in the hands of professional players such as Kurt Ballou of Converge, John Baizley of Baroness, Brent Hinds of Mastodon, singer and songwriter Jay Wud, and Adam Clayton of U2.
