A Familiar Shape with Real Vintage Feel and Unique Features
The new Silver Sky is a guitar that John Mayer will certainly feel at home playing, though of course it has it's own PRS flare. Some of the more distinctive features include: A "reverse" PRS headstock that provides even string length behind the nut, while still feeling like an "S" headstock, and matching Mayer's playing style. - A neck shape based off of 1963 and 1964 examples of the guitar that inspired the Silver Sky, with a 25.5" scale and 7.25" fingerboard radius. - Traditional vintage tuners and tremolo - yet both boasting the locking PRS design - Body flush tremolo bridge to create more acoustic resonance. - New 635JM single coils The Silver Sky also boasts the traditional PRS lower horn scoop, a 1-21/32" nut width, and a small bird inlaid rosewood fingerboard.

We made our way in, and soon after the room was packed to hear the man behind the excellent Silver Sky guitar speak. John came out with Paul Smith to introduce the new colors, and gave an inspiring talk about keeping the electric guitar as modern as possible - just as we look to see cars, watches and sneakers be a contemporary forward-thinking industry we need to see guitars as that way as well - and we couldn't agree more!

It imparts a bit of old-school character to an excellent electric guitar design.
PRS has just announced a 2nd edition of the very special Private Stock McCarty 594 "Graveyard" guitar, dubbed the Graveyard II. The Graveyard II is a limited edition 60-piece run of 594s built with maple from trees found in a graveyard at the top of a mountain in the east coast of the USA. The gravestones were dated to around 1884, with the trees at least as old as the stones, with their trunks being 40 feet to the first limb! These tops feature medium-wide to wide curl and extraordinary flame that has an iridescence to it. The ebony and Faded Gray maple fretboard with ebony “Ravens in Flight” inlay, Raven headstock veneer, and Raven’s Heart high-gloss nitro finish were all inspired by the story of these maple tops
