Yamaha Pacifica PAC612VIIFM Review & Demo!
Session-player inspired Pacifica offers unmatched versatility and playability
This is the new Yamaha PAC612VIIFM Pacifica with a very cool Indigo Blue finish over a flame maple top and an alder body, Wilkinson tremolo, and a very versatile electronics setup that provides a trio of Seymour Duncan pickups: SSL-1 neck and middle single coils and a TB-14 Custom 5 bridge humbucker. There's also a push/pull on the tone knob, should you want to split that humbucker for single-coil bridge tones, too! First introduced in the '90s and geared toward session players, the Pacifica is a classic Yamaha model that is a worthy guitar for any shredder or riffer alike.

Pacifica Tone
The Yamaha PAC612VIIFM Pacifica is a great take on the classic "HSS" model. The foundation of the alder body offers a nicely balance frequency response with a pronounced midrange, and pairing it's 25.5" scale with the middle or neck Duncan SSL-1 single coils will give you plenty of sparkle and snap if you so desire. Or, engage that bridge pickup for thick and fat rhythm tones and more output.
Pacifica Feel
The Pacific neck is crafted from maple and has a "C" shape that will feel like home for any player. The larger and comfortable 13-3/4" radius gives you a bit more space between the strings and a more modern feel overall than the Pacifica's cousins. The guitar also boasts a back contour so it sits against your body quite nicely.
Why We Like It
The Pacifica PAC612VIIFM is a great combination of value, beauty, playability, and tone. It could easily be the only guitar you need because of it's pickup configuration, and the flame maple top is a nice touch that makes it appear much more expensive than it is!
